Writersphere – January Writing Challenge UPDATED!

10 January 2014 No Comment

I’ve given my posting schedule a bit of a shake up while I wait to hear from someone regarding a guest blog, not to mention it makes more sense to post the writing challenge early in the month!

First, let’s go over the rules.

  1. Word count must be between 1500 and 3000.
  2. Story must follow and/or include given information, such as genre, lines, prompt info, etc.
  3. Must be original work.
  4. To be eligible for the month, it must be turned in by posted deadline.
  5. Entries will only be accepted through the contact form linked in the top bar, and in the post.
  6. Acceptable formats include .doc and .rtf.
  7. Please follow standard formatting. Anything in fancy backgrounds, fancy fonts and fancy colors will be rejected unread.
  8. Winners must provide a biography, sign a contract for publication, and be able to be paid by Paypal.

For January, we selected the science fiction genre, specifically futuristic. The following line should be included, once you’ve modified the pieces in brackets.

In 2064, Earth has become (what), and the inhabitants are (what).

The deadline is February 13th.

Good luck!

’til next month…
