\nI feel older today. Maybe it was the wine, the company, the…uh…chat. Yeah, chat. Maybe. <\/p>\n

Could be the damn cold though. Seriously, every new year I have to ask the same question? Why the HELL do I live in Canada?<\/p>\n

What I wouldn’t give for my gran’s old heater-gloves. Seriously, they were gloves that had some kind of electric thingy in ’em, and they warmed her hands; they were apparently for arthritis. Gramps had a pair of slippers, too, that were always warm. Considering the size of my knuckles, wrists and ankles every morning, I would certainly put them to good use. Be that as it may, I’m supposed to be reminiscing about the recent past, not the way-gone-past, so here goes.<\/p>\n

2010 was a year of lessons, of being so busy I’ve lost touch with a lot of people, of personal growth, of personal loss, and introspection.Hell, I started this decade with a ‘happy’ marriage, a wonderful house I adored but was falling apart around us (crap-assed landlord), two grandparents and a recently patched up extended family.<\/p>\n

I close it happily single with two beautiful and bright girls, a brother and a wonderful chosen family, still perched firmly on the ‘could go either way’ fence (although I did push it out of the closet in October), a thriving pair of businesses, and a sense of satisfaction that I know has come from finally growing up. A lot of that was done in this past year.<\/p>\n

BUT – I refuse to grow up entirely and so, happy bloody new year and new decade. Don’t do anyone I wouldn’t do, and if you get caught…name it after me!<\/p>\n
