The Lion Roared by Jodi Lee was another favourite although in this I could be biased. Give me a well told story containing the unbridled creepiness of child ghosts and I\u2019m putty in the author\u2019s hands.

The drama is turned up pretty high on this one, it\u2019s successfully moody and dark, but the concreteness of the \u201chouse\u201d is open to interpretation, which could work for or against the tale depending on the reader\u2019s views.

Like other stories in this book the tale could have been strengthened if pica was part of a progressive storyline rather than making it the story itself.
