This past week or so has been a flurry of activity, including the deadlines mentioned in my last post, but also work on the new project has been keeping me busy.
\n
\nWhen I was approached about this project, I wasn’t sure what I wanted to do. If<\/em> it gets done, if<\/em> it gets edited and if<\/em> it gets published, it’ll be done between myself and my co-author. Hopefully one of us will be able to bring someone on to do a third-eye look once we’re done with it – another if<\/em>. We’ve discussed it at length and we realize there’s not likely a publisher out there that would take this. It’s probably going to step on some toes (like we haven’t done that before). We’ve decided to go with self-publishing (unless our one choice for pubbing actually wants it). It’s a game changer, particularly for me. I’ve written all sorts covering the genre spectrum, but this… <\/p>\n

I have to shake my head.<\/p>\n

So far, I’ve only put together some notes and a possible log line. For the first time ever, I’ll be working on a semi-strict outline, created by my co-author and nudged by me, here and there. I admit it is distracting me from my regular work schedule; I have our plot and characters whizzing through my head when I’m supposed to be transcribing the edits of a YA novel, and working on the line-by-line for another novel. My writing projects have never been this distracting before, have never been this… there… before. I’ve thought things have, but this feels entirely different. Entirely more important.<\/p>\n

Even with New Bedlam, and that’s always there, always in the back of my mind. Jack and Shay are still holed up in the Inn, waiting for – something. Occasionally I hear Jack clearing his throat, and Shay tapping her fingernails on the dresser. They’ll just have to find some patience, because this is going to come first. Even ahead of all the other projects I have running right now, most of which are officially on hold until ‘Untitled’ is complete.<\/p>\n

I know a lot of you that stop by here are writers – has anything ever gripped you so tightly before? This is driving me batty… so very batty.<\/p>\n
