I’ve been far too disgusted and disturbed by the recent happenings at Amazon to even be remotely coherent about it. I mean, really? Come on… even the kids’ books dealing with same-sex parents, teen books on being gay… all stripped of their genre sets and sales rankings.<\/p>\n

People in the fifth century had more sense and acceptance than people now, in a supposedly more advanced and civilized era.<\/p>\n

And there is a petition<\/a> up – and I know these sorts of petitions rarely work, but it’s still worth a try. It’s better than sitting and fuming, or sitting and holding a grudge. <\/p>\n

It wasn’t that long ago that I was assured that the sales ranks were nothing important (back when certain self-pubbed troglodytes liked to boast about their million+ ranking, like it was a big deal). The thing is, they are a big deal when those rankings can get your title on a bestseller list. <\/p>\n

Oh wait, from what I’ve read, if the title is self-published through CreateSpace (amazon owned) or the publisher is using Booksurge as their printer (also amazon owned)…. the ranks are still there.<\/p>\n
