Provincial Champions!
I did get this posted to facebook yesterday, and meant to post here as well, but Cate gave me Monday…I think it was this one. Or maybe next Monday. Well, either way, it’s Tuesday and now I’m posting the news here. ;-P
The Miami Bantam Girls Fast Pitch Softball team won the gold medal at the Provincial Championships!
For the entire season, the girls lost only one game, and that was at a tournament.

I do feel it’s too bad that Headingley didn’t beat Varsity View in the bronze medal play-off. Headingley coaches and the girls on the team were everything the VV team wasn’t – our game against them was awesome; the coaches were friendly and good-humored, even the girls were congratulatory and friendly after losing to us. And when we’ve lost to them, they’ve been awesome winners… They are the epitome of what every team should strive to be.
They are absolutely the opposite of the Varsity View team, let’s leave it at that. o_O
Once again, the Buhler Park staff went out of their way to provide an awesome experience. As vehicles aren’t allowed into the park, a ‘gator’ service is provided – the staff at the gate will send a ‘gator’ vehicle out to pick up those folks from the handicapped parking area and take the lawn chairs, umbrellas, bags and what-not as well. My mother always enjoys watching the girls play, but every year it seems to be more and more difficult. Thanks to Buhler Park, it’s an awesome weekend for her, too. I would love to see the Midget championships there next season.
Only 9 months or so, give or take….

Woot and congratulations! That’s a stellar season!
Conga rats all around! Way to go on grabbing the gold, girls, and on a well played season.
Gawd, not only champions, but total dominance. Congrats, indeed!
hehehe Thanks everyone!
They played the older girls’ team last night (they’re Midgets, our girls are Bantams). Kicked some ass, even if they got super sloppy in the last inning. I mean, SUPER sloppy. Anyway, still beat ‘em 19-11.
