Writersphere – 15

24 December 2010 2 Comments

Welcome to a special Christmas edition of Writersphere… And of course, because I have that sick, sick sense of humor, it’s behind a cut. I’ve included a very graphic and horror-fying holiday video, definitely not safe for work nor young ears.

And no, it’s not grandma getting run over by a reindeer… ;)

From the Lee/Martindale-Wetherup family to yours – happy holidays!

Belfire & Needfire News

happy holidays

Ante Mortem – pre-death. That space between drawing the first breath, and the last… otherwise known as life.

Eleven stories for the eleventh hour. Snuggle in tight, have a glass of wine, light a candle. These stories have been given new life, and a new home; they’ve almost travelled this road before. Something always held them back, but now together, they’ve broken free.

Available for pre-order now: Ante Mortem Pre-order

The Widow’s Walk by Christine Morgan: For a young married couple, Erin and Gil, the small coastal town of Blackwater Cove is many things. The seaside; their first home; the beginning of a wonderful new life together; Gil’s chance to work alongside his brother Colby on a fishing boat, a job he loves.

But Blackwater Cove isn’t the idylic paradise Erin and Gil imagine. Their cozy home is haunted by a tragedy of love betrayed and lost. It is the story of a husband betrayed and a life stolen by the cruel power of the sea. It is a tragedy that spills over into the lives of Erin and Gil. All because Erin has disturbed the power that lies dormant in…

Books, Books and More Books!

Satisfy your hunger for the living dead in the third installment of the popular Undead series, THE UNDEAD: FLESH FEAST. A new recruit must face the grotesque realities behind the zombie war. An ancient, tentacled horror commands the walking dead. A green mold creeps across an uncharted island, driving its mysterious inhabitants insane. A lone survivor of the zombie apocalypse wants only one thing… to be bitten. The Grim Reaper struggles to claim the souls of the deceased that won’t stay dead. And in the featured novella, “The Legend of Black Betty,” a small town in the Old West rots with a plague wreaked by an evil prostitute.

Descending upon the ghost town of Jefferson Harbor, Louisiana, the Grim Reaper embarks on a bloody campaign to put down the legions that have defied his touch for so long. He will find allies in the city’s last survivors, and a nemesis in a man who wants to harness the force driving the zombies—a man who seeks to rebuild America into an empire of the dead.

Hailed as “A macabre masterpiece of post-apocalyptic zombie goodness” on the Library of the Living Dead podcast, Empire brings stunning new twists to a shattering and unforgettable scenario of the not-too-distant future.

Don Hewitt isn’t sleeping well. It might be the stess of the move, the city, or perhaps the fact that he hasn’t dreamt in weeks. One night Don is confronted by a specter personifying the world that abandoned him. There is no defense as it reclaims him from reality and returns him to the hidden spheres that lay within and beyond. Each world holds a new dream, a new terror, and the echoes consume all.
