Ten Weeks of Blogdom – Week Four

27 January 2011 No Comment

Thanks to a recent windstorm, I was without internet for a few days, so this is late. I was back yesterday, technically…

So, we’re now at week four. Today, I’m supposed to write about seven things that cross my mind a lot. I’ll have to say, they’re almost all Belfire, work or similarly related, and probably boring to most of you. Nevertheless, here we go, diving in… avoiding the really boring ones. ;)

7) What it’s going to be like when the girls are gone – contrary to popular belief and my own flapping tongue – I kind of dread the time when they’re both gone. I know I’m a hermit, and I spend most of my time alone now, but at that point, I’ll be Alone. In the past several months, I’ve broken through a lot of barriers, and a very large one was the controlling, manipulative methods used by members of my birth-family to keep me, and others of our kin, within a half-hours drive. I don’t want to do that to the girls… but I have to admit the temptation is there.

6) House plans… we’ll be moving in the next eight months or so, I hope, and I’ve got a picture in my head. The yard, the interior, my room. See – the house is a lot smaller than where we are now. We have a lot of furniture. It’s going to be squishy, but cozy. I hope.

5) Getting back into regular ritual and study… Either it’s the winter, or I’m just that crazy, but I’m wanting to get back into a regular path of study. Guess we’ll see how that goes…

4) Finances… who doesn’t worry about finances???

3) New Bedlam… I know, I know. I should live in the present, the here and now, the here for that matter. Frankly, I like New Bedlam more, thank you very much.

2) Juggling Belfire, TNBP, freelancing and my writing… 24 hours a day just isn’t enough.

1) Re-structuring Belfire Press… there’s a lot of necessary changes coming up, and I’m not particularly happy with any of them, but I know that they must be done, or the company will go the way of so many other micro-presses. Oh, and PS – I know there are a handful of people that hate seeing the term micro-press. Tough.

Some of you may have noticed a lack of a Writersphere last week. Unfortunately, I don’t have time right now to hunt down promotion items, and despite repeated requests across twitter and Facebook (and thanks to the folks who re-posted and re-tweeted!) no one offered any. Just as I understand everyone’s busy, etcetc. I hope you will all understand – Writersphere is, for the time being anyway, once again going on hiatus. At least I can say I tried…again. :)
