Going Postal

22 February 2011 No Comment

I love being a small business owner… really.

Paypal has at some point started taking larger chunks for their percentages than I had worked into my business plan. In fact, over the course of the royalty payouts, it turns out it’s easier financially on Belfire to actually use the bank account and checks. But then…

I went in to the PO today to pick up 21 xpresspost envelopes, the size and price I remember getting for some other documents last fall. But then…

Guess what? Discon-freaking-tinued. Only one size remains, and that one is $22+ per envelope. Even if Belfire could afford $462 to send the royalties and contracts, I’m not sure I would feel comfortable paying that out for something twice the size of a business envelope that would contain a sheet of paper and a check (some of which are for less than the envelope and postage!!). But then…

It’s back to normal postage and crossed fingers that the ponies haven’t actually frozen to the ground between here and Ottawa. Judging from the number of people that have reported they’ve not received their half of the contracts? The ponies must have died in the sudden cold snaps last fall.

Gah. Just gah.

/ end rant, for now.
