How to Get There From Here…
…or Into a Long Ago Future.
I’ve been getting caught up with Belfire, New Bedlam and my own work, believe it or not, despite being down with several migraines recently. I’ve got two edits to wrap up this weekend for Belfire, one freelance project to finalize, and the first round of proofing on New Bedlam: Town Archives Vol.1 to finish. Should only take until Monday. In the meantime…
About two weeks ago, I was surprised to find my own file in my private inbox, and just recently I sent it back to my editor, agreeing with pretty much everything she’d done to me. Er, the file. Not me, it’s not personal. An editor myself, I should know that, right? Right. Yeah.
Anyway, now that we’ve established I didn’t take it personally (I didn’t, stop looking at me like that!), I want to thank Mel for her hard work on this. I wasn’t the easiest person to work with, sending her a bunch of loose stuff and even one handwritten chapter, and she put it into a cohesive bit of work. Then she laughed at me.
I’m serious, people. She laughed at me.
That I did take personally, but I could see her point – if anyone sent me all of that, I’d… well, depending on how much they were paying me …probably quit. So with that in mind, I also want to apologize for dumping my rambling brain dribbles onto her lap like that. Thank the gods she understands me well enough to know I wasn’t even thinking, I just…hit send. <|;)

I’ve not really said much about this project, and I suppose it’s probably time to, since she thinks we can have it ready to go by the end of the weekend. I’d like to put a tiny bit of a spin on that, and say that the first person (here in the comments or at over at Facebook) who figures out what’s behind the cover, gets a copy. Is it a novel? Short fiction? Naughty photos of the gnomes next door? A dissertation on the lifespan of the local honeybee?
Guess. You might win. <|:D
