18 of 52 Weeks – Congratulations, J.L. Benet!
One of my favorite guys, a truly great up-and-coming writer, J.L. Benét, has won a gold medal IPPY in the Horror category for his debut novel (and Belfire release!) Wolf Hunter. So – I’ve lazed out this week, and decided to steal (most of) my congratulatory announcement from the Belfire Press website. <|;^) Congratulations J.L. - I knew Wolf Hunter was going to go places when I first read it, and I am so pleased to have worked with you on bringing it to print through Belfire... I am honored, sir!
The Independent Publisher Book Awards were conceived in 1996 as a broad-based, unaffiliated awards program open to all members of the independent publishing industry. The awards are intended to bring increased recognition to the thousands of exemplary independent, university, and self-published titles produced each year, and reward those who exhibit the courage, innovation, and creativity to bring about change in the world of publishing. We could not be more proud of one of our own! It’s been hard to keep it under wraps this long, especially when the unofficial announcements were all over the place last week. We are so happy for J.L., and for the success Wolf Hunter has achieved.
For more information, and a complete list of the 2013 winners, visit The Independent Publisher website.

I hope everyone has as awesome a week as we’re having – and don’t forget to pick up a copy of Wolf Hunter – you WILL NOT be sorry!
