NaNoMeals – Crock-Pot Classic Beef Stew
You’re right, it’s pretty much the same as my other crock-pot stew recipe, only this one has a bit more kick to it. I don’t usually add celery to my stews, but if you like it in yours, add a stick, chopped up!
Crock-Pot Classic Beef Stew
Ingredients:
4 large carrots, peeled, cut in half lengthwise, then in 1″ pieces
1 large onion, quartered, each quarter cut in thirds
1 medium sized turnip, cubed (1″ pieces)
8 baby potatoes, quartered
3 tbsps all purpose flour
1 bay leaf
2 pounds beef stew meat, 1″ cubes
1 tsp salt
1 tsp pepper
1 14-ounce can crushed tomatoes
1 c water w/ 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
1 can beef broth
Directions:
Toss all veggies in a 5-quart crock-pot.
Place flour and seasonings in a large resealable plastic bag; add stew meat, seal and shake to coat the meat. Pour crushed tomatoes, broth and water over top, and cover.
Cook on low for 8 hours.
By the end of the day you should have completed at least 18337 to stay on track.
Best of luck!
