5th on 56th
Shamelessly ganked from Bob Freeman’s blog at Myspace:
Grab the book nearest you. Right now. Turn to page 56. Find the fifth sentence. Post that sentence along with these instructions on your blog. Don’t dig for your favorite book, the coolest, the most intellectual. Use the CLOSEST.
Not nearly as interesting as Bob’s, but probably just as odd. I suppose ya’ll didn’t think I had a Softball Canada rulebook within spittin’ distance.
Thing is, from mid-April to the end of July, we’re all about the softball, as if you hadn’t noticed. This particular rulebook is from the 2005-2006 seasons, when I was working on “Who Stole Third?”, a YA mystery involving a small girls ball team. That was the year the Provincial championships were so damned exciting, the year Care hit her grand-slam and kept the team in the games. If she hadn’t have hit it, they’d have been done that inning.
So, needless to say, I never did get much past the 10k on that one.
But my girl was a hero for twenty minutes.
