From the Writersphere…Now Edited!

10 April 2009 2 Comments

12 hours late, but finally getting posted….(and it’s because I was SLEEPING! yay me!)

Gina Ranalli’s new book is out early! The cover freaks me out just a tad… okay, a lot. At least it’s not flying eyeballs this time. ;)

Sky Tongues

Congrats, Gina!

Louise received her box of The Black Act this past week! The darling even did a little video (and moved it to youtube for me, thank you sweetie!).

Super-fantastic writers, Marta Stephens, Aaron Paul Lazar, Kim Smith and S.W. Vaughn have collaborated on a blog – Murder by 4. They just received news that the blog is now listed in Writer’s Digest Best 101 for Writers by Writers!

Congratulations all of you!

A totally hilarious post on the ongoing saga between queryfail and agentfail.

More here.

The tweet-lite thingy on facebook is as tweety as I plan on ever getting…

Joel Sutherland, who – as it turns out – is really good at keeping a secret, made a gianthugeamazingwonderful announcement on his blog this past week. He’s got a book deal with Scholastic! Not only can the man write childrens and horror, now he’s aiming for the tween and YA markets, too. Congratulations, Joel!

Belle has left the building – Facebook, that is. And in a stunningly astute commentary (that which I agree wholeheartedly) she states:
“And it’s only a social networking site after all. Contrary to popular belief Facebook, Twitter et al. will not change the world.”

Bravo, Belle!

Poppy Brite has amazing stuff on her blog. Just go check out this past week’s posts… life moves on in Tanganyika. You’ll see what I mean when you get there. ;)

Editorial Anonymous has a great post up about Self-Publishing and Self-Editing.

And Victoria Strauss at Writer Beware had this: The Need for Balance

These were timely, considering my recent thoughts on new projects, etc. :)

And now, still, continuing on, repeatedly…

The New Bedlam Project

The contest is still open, so anyone (outside of staff and authors) can still pop over there and check it out. Seriously, if you see what we see, we’ll reward you. :) I’ve got most of the prizes in hand now, as well, so WooHoo! This pack includes Saw IV.

AND from now until Monday, sidebar advertising-including downloadable archive-for the remaining issues is $40.00. We’re moving the banners to the top, under the ISSN designation.

And a final note:

Please take the poll to the top-right. It’s anonymous, and I’m only asking because I want to see who my reader base is. Not that religion defines a person, but because I’d like to see if my current WiP is of any interest to anyone here, and it is spirituality based.

That being said, I’m leaning greatly in the direction of subbing these things out… :) Thanks for all the input folks! *hugs*

I agree about that cover. Those drama/comedy masks always were creepy which the Sky Tongues cover reminds me of.

Is Poppy Z. Brite doing horror anymore?

I don’t honestly know if she’s doing much writing at all anymore. I just love her blog to bits. :)

    And her garden pr0n. I love garden pr0n. :)
