Weekend Update in 666 words
The long weekend is over, and I can say I’ve survived three days with the children. With my sanity almost intact, too. This is a super-long post, but I assure you, the laughs and tears are worth it. I mean, if you can laugh at this stuff. And if you do, dude, wtf?
Saturday – Girls had ball practice, oldest younger brother and I had coffee with our HPs, and afterwards we took Sugar to the vet. She has a sprained back (probably from all the insane acrobatics on the furniture) so we need to keep her restful for the next four weeks. Anyone with solutions on keeping a very active and bouncy cocker spaniel from being very active and bouncy, please for the love of all that is holy – comment! PS – no drugs. Sugar abstains from all that, although she has been known to slurp a bit of beer from a hand… hmmm.
After the vet, we had dinner at my mother’s (yeah, I know, right?) and played Spite & Malice (card game) and Trouble (pop-o-matic, even) until 10-ish or so.
Later in the evening, we watched the first six episodes of True Blood. For the record, I love my youngest brother. He is the king of doing favors for his big sister. For some reason, I watched a movie afterwards. On my way to bed, I realized it was 5-ish, and Rhia was still on the computer doing Rhia things. I frowned. She pouted.
Sunday – Slept in. YAY! Had food, I think… then watched the last six episodes of True Blood. Went to oldest younger brother’s to help with newborn kitten from a too-young mom. Finally got her to keep him out of the litter box after cleaning out his mouth and nose. Stupid cat. Watched the latest two Futurama movies. Went home, listened to Funky Werepig. Laughed ass off. Too bad that doesn’t really work…
Monday – Slept in! Double YAY! Realized sleeping in is NOT good for the back. Finally awake, I had coffee and started work on the New Bedlam poster design. Realized it was 1:20 and the girls were to be on the diamond ready to play at 1:30. Oh shit moment. Everyone scrambled and… they were on the diamond at 1:35. Not bad.
Mad panic when the ump reminded us players must not have ANY jewelry on. Care still had her captive bead rings in her ears. D’oh! Scramble to find pliers and baggie, but we made it just in time for her to bat. *whew*
They lost. It was EFFING COLD! Stupid Manitoba stupid wind stupid stupid.
More graphic design when we got home, and the girls went to their uncle’s. Phone call, kitten is… well… living impaired. Lexus (mom-cat) didn’t want to give him up. Booster (dad-cat) nonchalant. Stupid cats. Must be the feral-farm-inbreeding. Put kitten in box, ready for burial. Go home.
Girls call – they’ve had a wake, and named the kitten “Lugh Llaw Gyffes” in honor of Booster being not only dad, but uncle. Btw – ewww. Also – girls are weird.
Watched One Tree Hill finale. Shut up. I hear you snickering.
Finished poster. Looks good!
Got email – OOOOO – ACCEPTANCE! Necrotic Tissue has bought Ring a Ring a Rosie for the January 2010 issue of NT. Suddenly, I remember – that’s print now, not e-zine. WOO! I think I’ll parole Scott from the county jail in New Bedlam on account of good behavior.
Almost done, bear with me. In a day or so, there’ll be a new page here and at New Bedlam. The posters are going on sale from now until the end of the month. Paypal only! Remember, these funds go towards paying the future writers in that cr-r-r-ee-ee-py little town, New Bedlam.
Finally, just want to mention that there is a poll open. You know I let you all decide the ins and outs of my addictions, so.. tell me.. do I need yet another social networking tool for myself? If you think I should be a twit, please – vote.

Oooh, True Blood! My friend keeps telling me to watch it– I take it you would back this recommendation up, then?
Also, poor inbred kitty! At least he had a rockin’ name.
Congrats on the acceptance.
Excellent news on the acceptance. I must take a real close look at your New Bedlam.
Huzzah!
Should you be a twit? I’m not much of one to ask. I tweet about once a week, ignore most of the chatter, and only log in every other day. I suck at twitter.
Congrats on the acceptance. Very cool. I say skip Twitter. Then again I find it really effin’ annoying and pedestrian and narcissistic and …
*nodnod* That’s exactly what I’d been feeling, but then we’re doing it for New Bedlam, and…
ARGH! lol
