Ruminations on turning 27
So, I hear I just turned 27. I do believe Mr. Hall was off just a tetch, but that’s okay, I can deal with being 27 online, so long as I don’t have to go back ten years and do it again for real.
I’d do my 31st again… mwahahaha. o_O Ahem.
Anyway, Saturday was my birthday. It was a great day – I slept in, got up and did some poking around the social sites. There were a LOT of bday wishes from a LOT of people. I’m so friggin’ floored. And because I’ve still not thanked everyone, everywhere: THANK YOU!! I hope this and the other umbrella thank yous works. It means a lot, ya’ll.
I received my first b-day present of the year at Myspace.
Cemetary Dance gave me a discount code. I’ve never clicked a link so fast as I did that one, and ordered 12 issues of CD magazine and Elsewhere by William P. Blatty. I suppose everyone on their friends list gets a code on their b-days, but damned if I didn’t feel uber-special for like… well, I still do. I once got a rejection from CD that made me feel like I was actually a decent writer. From CD. I mean. Wow.
Rhia gave me Odd Hours by Dean Koontz, another hug and an ‘I love you!’
Mom got me a gift card for one of the local stores, where I will use it to buy either another Clegg or Keene novel. Or both. Or maybe that John Skipp novel that’s been taunting me. o_O I swear it whispers naughty things to me every time I walk past the rack. Mmmm. New books.
So then, Sunday, Rhia and my otherbrother decide we have to go see Harry Potter. That would have been all fine and good EXCEPT I missed The Funky Werepig. I’m ya know, listening to the dl of the show right now, and damn if Mr. ‘I’m Canadian-phobic’ Hall did bday greetings on air.
Sweeeet. PS – we do NOT shit ice. I bleed ice, Greg. Bleed. Ice. o_O LOL
Care phoned home from Kenora last night. She’s had and is continuing to have an amazing time. She LOVED the Powwow, Joe’s taken her fishing, she saw fireworks, Joe’s taken her fishing, they’re going to see Harry Potter (tonight, I think), Joe’s taking her fishing… see a theme here? Good. She caught me a birthday present. I can hardly wait.
And apparently, sometime mid-September to mid-October-ish, I may be taking a small trip west to meet up with someone I haven’t seen in person for… gah… just over a year. Mmmm. Chocolate whipped cream.
37 almost beats 31.

Happy belated birthday!
I knew it was coming and I still missed it – sorry. Glad you had a good one.
