Followed by Obligatory Goals Post
So, here is the look at things from 2009 that are specifically writing related.
Two acceptances carried over from 2008, The Legless Ones in The Black Garden Anthology, and It Never Lasts Forever in 52 Stitches ‘zine AND Anthology.
I did not finish any of the novels in progress.
I wrote 7 new shorts, and perhaps some day I’ll fix ‘em up and get ‘em into circulation.
I’ve lost count of the reviews, interviews, and other non-fiction stuff I wrote this year. I was going to re-tally, but I don’t know. The troubles I’ve been having at AC really killed that fire, and I know I was going to set up another blog and do them there, but… Stuff. Happened. Before we open for submissions at Belfire and TNBP, I’m going to try again at AC.
I submitted 27 times in 2009, had 8 acceptances, and 15 rejections – 4 submissions are still out. According to Duotrope I have a 15% acceptance ratio for the last 12 months. I guess I’m happy with that, although my head is telling me a third of my submissions were accepted, so wouldn’t that make it 33%?
Anyone?
Bueller?
As I said in my last post, only one of the submissions accepted last year was published last year. And that makes 3 publications in 2009.
This year the goal list looks much the same as last, only I’m knocking out most of the novels, and maybe I’ll actually get something done!

2010, look out! <--how cheesy was that?

I keep looking at my duotrope rating and sighing *lol* Luckily, one acceptance is all it will take to push it up and make me smile again. Silver lining! : )
Holy carp, I didn’t realize Duotrope rated authors! (I’ve mentioned that in many ways I’m still a newbie, right?) I’m probably in the negative digits. X-D
Sounds like you got the makings for an absolutely kick ass year coming up, sweetie! *hugs*
Have a fabulous 2010, Jodi. 15% acceptance ratio sounds wrong to me, I have a 23.26% ratio and my collection of rejections v acceptances is definitely weighed down in the ‘no’ corner.
Bueller? – One of the best films ever, and yes, I had a thing for Mia Sara (am I officially showing my age now?)
NaNoWriYe – I like this.
I think I may have to copy your goal format – good stuff.
Good luck with 2010. I’m sure it will be a great one for you.
