Necessary Move Forward

So, as stated previously, I’m making some necessary moves forward.
My design portfolio has been updated accordingly. Cover artists, web designers and publishers feel free to use the contact form in order to access the deadbeats page.
I absolutely hate that it has come to this. I made every effort to keep it from going this far.

It’s too bad you were forced into the wall of shame, but it’s a public service. Plus, the portfolio looks rad!
The person in question is now trying to claim I’m defaming his character, and he’ll sue me.
Wooo – gotta love that. I’ll be sued for telling the truth about someone who didn’t pay me for services rendered.
*sigh*
And thanks! I just had to do something with that background when I saw it. It’s gorgeous!
I love the portfolio, Jodi!
And yeah–like Katey said, the public service a wall of shame provides is so people don’t get screwed over again. Although I don’t know who screwed you over, I do have to say that whoever did it should be highly ashamed of themselves. Making money off their own product and not paying you in the process is, as far as I’m concerned, a crime against morality, which is probably the highest crime against morality you can ever pull. It’s bad enough when you go into something expecting to get your money’s worth, then get nothing for it?
That’s sad.
Like I said before, I wouldn’t worry too much about the ‘I’ll sue you until you defame his character’ thing–even if it DID go to court, the judge would laugh his ass out of the courtroom.
I can see it now.
‘She’s defaming my character! I’ve lost money because of her!’ screwer cries.
‘Well,’ Judge (insert reality TV judge here) says, ‘I find it rather surprising that you couldn’t pay this woman (insert money here,) but you could pay (insert larger amount of money here) to hire a lawyer and bring her to court.’
LOL! What Kody said.
Love ya, hon!

Thanks for the support you two. It means a lot to me! *big hugs*
For the record – he was supposed to pay me two copies of the books, which I was told was being released the first week of November. That would have fallen into the ‘due within 15 days’ realm of payment.
However, apparently said book wasn’t released, but I was never given any indication, nor was I told when I would receive payment. After two months, I invoiced for full fees, as he and his publisher had been warned I would do.
Excellent.
When I’m ready to make my own move forward, I’ll be getting in touch. You’ll be doing all my website design stuff – very nice.
Oh dude, I hope he realizes that he’ll be the one shelling out if he sues. Any judge is going to award you money for what you wasted on defense. Ha!
