This is the wrong mission for Canada. It’s not balanced. It doesn’t represent the equilibrium between humanitarian aid, reconstruction and comprehensive peace process that Canadians would want to see.Jack Layton, NDP
I can’t sleep again tonight. Had I not caught the word “Kandahar” on the news last night, I’d be fine. Four Canadian soldiers from CFB Petawawa were killed, and only two names have been released. I can’t remember if Bry’s name would be released immediately or not. I guess now I can see why they’ve never told me before, when …

Several years ago, I purchased the SacredTriskele.net domain name. I did that, because I didn’t want to use my married name, my first-name-dot-com was taken, and at the time, dot-ca was an extremely difficult and pricey handle to get.
What would have paid for 2 months registration then, is now paying for three years, and www.jodilee.ca will be live sometime soon. I’m just waiting for nameservers to kick over, and then we’ll be good to go. If I’ve done my end of the setting up right, anyway. In preparation for the …

Samhain’s Call is finished! I just have to finish formatting, and checking for whatever needs editing, and then I can send it off to a reader!
After nearly three years (one of those the file was hidden away on a back up disc….) I can hardly believe it’s done. And today, too..nothing like giving myself a present..LOL It was almost anti-climactic, typing “End” under the last line. Almost. Whew! Yay!

Chapter Two – Yule Blessings
Part One – Surprise
Morri couldn’t believe it was actually Jon’s arms holding her, his face snuggled into the curve of her neck, his hand in her hair. She’d so longed for this moment, but had never really, fully believed it would happen, and certainly not like this. Hearing the giggles coming from her girls – she pulled away from his embrace, and stepped around him to close the door.
“When…how…what are you doing here?” The questions were whirling in her head, some which she knew she could …

Every so often, I pull up a text file from my old Suite101 days, and look at it. I sigh, nod my head, and close it again. It reminds me WHY I am so bloody vehement against the company now, when I was so ‘for them’ back in the day.
I’d just become the manager of the Society & Culture community over there when I typed this into the file. It’s my favorite quote from “The Stand” by Stephen King. It’s in both versions, and it was even in the movie. …

Once upon a time, the Miami Squirts fastpitch softball team went to Provincials. The little team from the little town came out of nowhere… Ok, no. Not entirely nowhere. They did do really well last year, and they went to Provincials then too. But this year was different. This year, the girls won 13 of 14 league games, and 6 of 9 tourney games – 19 out of 23 games in total. It won them the gold medal for being first in our league!
I had this entire story all written …
