Rejection: the Only Chance of the Small Press

In a recent conversation, a good writer-friend of mine expressed the following: “It’s too easy to get published these days. No one wants to hear the word ‘no’. No one wants to wait, anymore. To work on their craft, get better. There are too many small presses publishing too many bad books. This is not ‘freeing the writer.’ It’s destroying publishing.”

I know, Canadian Thanksgiving is well past, but I needed some recovery time, thank you very much. And these recipes work well for Christmas, or even a big Sunday dinner for a large family.
Besides, I’m actually writing this post in the past, so that I can, in future, reflect on what might be. If that makes sense to you, I think you need to see my therapist. She doesn’t believe me.
