APEX Holiday Subscription Drive – Win free stuff!

All right, folks…we haven’t done one of these in about 1.5 years. The time is ripe for a new subscription drive.

I want to increase our per word pay rate. To do this, we need more subscribers.

Here are the goals.

1) If we can get 100 new subscriptions in the month of November, I can raise the new rate to 2.5 cents per word.

2) If we can get 200 new subscriptions in the month of November, I can raise the new rate to 3.0 cents per word.

3) If we can get 500 new subscriptions in the month of November, I can raise the new rate to 5.0 cents per word. According to SFWA and the HWA, that’s professional rate level! We would LOVE to be a professional market.

My primary goal is to get at least the 100 new subscriptions. We can get 100 new subscriptions in a month, right? Right?

With the main impetus being a payment rate change, naturally I am looking hard at the writers for assistance. I’m not necessarily asking that you pitch in $20 for a subscription (though if you do, you will be loved). But I am asking that you help spread the word, to help us reach beyond the bounds of the Apex blogs, newsletter, and forum, to help us find new readers. New readers means more subscriptions. More subscriptions means more we can pay our writers. It’s a friendly circle of life type of thing.

But other than charity, what do we have to offer you for helping spread the word? Note: This means that you may well end up with numerous entries for the drawing. You can only collect an entry for blogging once. But the others can be had multiple times. For every 100 subscriptions we get, we will give away an extra Apex for life. So if we get 400 subscriptions, we’ll give away 4 APEX FOR LIFE! (plus the mugs).
