Dilemma

ADDENDUM – I have just sent the removal request. I’ll be editing the posts and stats page momentarily. I should have listened to my inner voice to begin with. :(

funny pictures

I made a sale, but do I want to sign the as of yet, non-existant contract? I’ve had advice on the pro side, and advice on the con side. Mostly folks are telling me I have to make up my own mind, which I know to be true, but I can’t let go of the “I made a sale” thing. Damn it.

Company back door sneakiness aside, lack of contract aside, employee and author forced affiliations aside… well, shit. It really all comes back to the back door sneakiness (I can’t believe said person was never in line for that job before since he seemed to be doing the work then, too, I call bullshit) and affiliations.

I’ve heard people say that the horror genre is nothing but a big incestuous pile of big name authors with the midlist hangers on. Well, whatever. Frankly most of the midlisters I read are a lot better than the big names. A. Lot. Better.

Recent behaviours by some have actually tweaked my conscience. Yes, folks, I do have one. It’s small, but it’s there. Do I want to have my story (again, damn good story, if I do say so myself, but Kevin says so too..lol) done up in such a way? Do I want to have my name done up in such a way?

If nothing else, I can’t condone certain behaviours from people, on either side of any fence.

I think I’m gonna go rent some Jay and Silent Bob and forget today happened.

Okay, I’m confused. What happened? The zombie antho, right?

Yep – there were a couple of issues that I couldn’t get over once I’d heard about them.

Some of the stuff hit far too close to home, and was a large part in my decision…

    (email – you has it)

Yeah, you should always listen to your gut. The gut knows. :)

    Hi Jodi!

I had an absolute flood of advice over the place, too. I’m going to live in hope that one of my new favorite publishers decides to have another zombie anthology, and I’ll submit there ;)
