Another acceptance to announce, as I’ve signed and returned the contract tonight. Christopher Allen Death of Corpulent Insanity has accepted “The Legless Ones” for The Black Garden anthology. More information on the Books page.

Anyway, CAD is a wicked editor. He put me through two edits on the story, and I’m amazed with the results. I can’t believe (this is karma, I’m sure) how much repetitive blather he found! And the prose isn’t as flowery as it had been – I’d written it like an old-time fairy tale, specifically for another publication a long time ago. Then I didn’t send it in.. now I’m so glad I didn’t!

I also took a break tonight (the current editing is kicking my backside) and wrote a flash piece. I sent it to Mel to crit, and for once the girl was a) online and b) awake. (Love ya, Mel!) Between we two, it polished up nice and shiny, I think. So in a fit if insanity (but not corpulent insanity…ha ha ha) I sent it off to a market that I’ve been thinking about all summer.

And now, I’m gonna let the girls have some time on the ‘puter because my butt hurts from sitting here all day.
