A Very Undead Christmas

26 December 2008 One Comment

Christmas has came and went, as either my grandfather or one of my uncles (Butch or Moe) used to say. I’ve not recovered quite yet, but I’m sitting upright, and I can focus, so I figured it’s time to get typing.

I have a giant story about Christmas day, but it kinda reads like a tl;dr post from a nitwit, so ya’ll are gonna have to suffice with this.

We had our stockings, breakfast and presents here at home, then packed up and went over to my mother’s for the rest of the day and Christmas dinner. As usual, there was far too much food (my mother still cooks like there’s 29 of us, not 6) and we all ate far too much. Oh well, it’s Christmas, and leftovers taste good.

We played a round of Trivial Pursuit that lasted a good three hours, and mother won as usual, then we had pie and nibbles. Again, far too much food.

Rhia stumbled off to read and have a nap, while the rest of us pulled out my youngest brother’s recent acquisition in the tabletop role-playing game department. And my mother got right into it (she who believes Scrabble and Trivial Pursuit are THE be all and end all).

What was it, you ask?

Humans!

Yep, my mother got right into this game, like… right into it. Little does she know, when the zombies attack IRL, we’re shoving her out the door and rationing the massive amount of food she has in the house… but she won, having infected and eaten more humans than the rest of us. It was close to 3:30 this morning, when we stumbled in the door to find our beds again.

Anyway, it’s a great little game. I think I’d like to get the companion, Zombies! and play ‘em both. Or maybe just more humans and map tiles for Jordie’s game.

Nothing like a little zombie at Christmas. ;)
