Happy New Year!

I am making goals for 2007, but none will be classed as resolutions. If I make ‘em I make ‘em. If not – well, whatever. Resolutions to me always seemed to be very personal things, and honestly – I’m not sure I want ya’ll to know that much about me. Yeah, I know – I’m more open than most people are comfortable with but face it – if one of my resolutions were to get laid, wouldn’t you raise your eyebrow just a little? Well, not you Mari, Louise, Michele and Kevin. Ya’ll expect that kinda stuff from me..LOL
Several of my resolutions from last year did stick at various points.
I did quit smoking, except for the ten or so spread out over the two days I was stressed over my mother’s accident, and the two at Christmas. Also, stressed because of where I was and who I was with. Hmmm..mental note: stay away from mother and pod in combination.
I’m not drinking as much as I had been, so in comparison to 2003 (every weekend, all weekend during the summer and part of the fall) I’m completely free. I have to admit though, that beer diet did wonders to my figure, and kept the brain from completely making me feel like it was going to explode.
I did get a good start with 3Sides, even if the computer and tech issues raged war against me in the summer and fall. We’re looking at our second year ahead and it’s not that scary. Four manuscripts out now, with four back with rejections. Good balance for the end of the year.
I’ve written in excess of 150k; had several acceptances of shorts and novellas, finished a novel and started several others and enjoyed my rejections. Yes, even the one from Clarkesworld!
I was assimilated by the Apex Hive as BabyBorg of Submissions. Reading that now, it sounds somewhat dirty. I like it.
The ones that didn’t stick can be rolled over for this year, or just plain forgotten. I vote for forgotten. Particularly the diet and exercise thing, even if I did make some alterations that have stuck. More veggies, less fatty meats. A LOT less carbs. Still no result that I can see. Ah well..more work for this year!
