Internet Radio

Thanks to Kevin James Hurtack (the zombie wrangler himself….), I found internet radio.

Of course, I knew about ‘net radio before Kevin mentioned it in a recent blog posting, but I hadn’t had the opportunity to check things out and listen – dial-up prevented that. With DSL however, I can listen, and I can hear. Headphones are wonderful for people who have damaged their ears using headphones. ;)

Anyway, back to why I’m posting. Recently, royalty rates for broadcasters have been raised, and are going into effect in a couple of weeks. Not only are they going into effect but they are retroactive. More information here.

I wish I had the money and the means to support ‘net radio by becoming a VIP subscriber at Live365. There are three stations on my preset right now, two of which I’ve spent hours listening to (and yes, I feel guilty for having a free account and getting this much enjoyment out of it) – WitchCast, and Metal Shop. I’m going to go and look for more stations as well, and maybe I’ll find one for each of my weird moods/muses. I write best when listening/not-listening to music.

After all, Interludes was written to some of the harshest industrio-metal-grunge-rock combos I’ve ever seen.

So – if you’re in the US and you have the wherewithall to help fight this fight, please…click the link above and do what you can.
