Ok, I’m quickly using the hotel computer to let everyone know I’m alive (and now sober) and the conventions are going well. I did KeyCon briefly yesterday, long enough to get my change of thingy done and make sure I could get into the social last night.
FUN…Next year, I’m doing KeyCon. hehehe…
Mari, let Jason know I donated two issues of Apex (from my stash) to the charity auction – and I had Kevin Anderson sign one of them. I left a bunch of the catalogues on the media table, along …

A couple of weeks ago, I ordered some books from the local bookstore. I wanted to have ‘em on hand with me at the conferences May long weekend, because I intend to pester Kevin J. Anderson into signing them. And at least one copy of Apex 9.
Anyway, so I got the call that they were in, and I went over and picked ‘em up. Echoes of Terror had arrived as well – two copies – so naturally I had to check out the shelf. There they were. With little stickers …
I’ve been trying to break the writer’s block for…gawds…months now. I know a huge part of my problem is a giant amount of frustration with various people either in or recently shoved out of, my life. Too, I’ve been working on edits of the older stuff getting it ready for another round of submissions; also editing/formatting for clients. It’s not that I’ve been completely out – I’ve written bits and pieces here and there.
But that’s just it, you see. Bits and pieces. No more than 500 words at a time, …
The girls had their first game of the season tonight. It was a first in many, many ways.
First game of the season.
First game as a team (four new/returning girls)
First game as PeeWees instead of Squirts.
First time they’ve won the first game of the season, ever.
I know I’m not supposed to gloat (bad form) but these girls work hard on their skills, long practices and here in Manitoba that means practicing indoors during the winter months. But all the hard work the team has put in has paid off (14-9). Most …
Happy, healthy, Blessed Beltaine everyone!
I share with you this wonderful day, the lyrics to my favorite cross-religions song. It works for all of ‘em!
‘Tis a gift to be simple, tis a gift to be free
‘Tis a gift to come down where we ought to be
And when we find we’re in the place just right
We’ll be in the valley of love and delight
Dance, Dance, wherever you may be.
I am the Lord of the Dance, said he.
And I’ll lead you all, wherever you may be,
And I’ll lead you all, in the dance …

Thanks to Kevin James Hurtack (the zombie wrangler himself….), I found internet radio.
Of course, I knew about ‘net radio before Kevin mentioned it in a recent blog posting, but I hadn’t had the opportunity to check things out and listen – dial-up prevented that. With DSL however, I can listen, and I can hear. Headphones are wonderful for people who have damaged their ears using headphones.
Anyway, back to why I’m posting. Recently, royalty rates for broadcasters have been raised, and are going …
