I love Peri – when I’m feeling the single mom blues, I go read her single mom blues and remember that I’m not the only single mom with a deadbeat ex and daughters. Ok, Peri has a daughter…but she has more guinea pigs, so I figure we’re about even. Children can be quiet, piggies on the other hand – not so much. Then again – all three girls have been making noise about dating lately… (ok, Care was just saying she’d only ever, EVER, date David Tennant. She’s 12, I …

In honor of International Pixel-Stained TechnoPeasant’s Day:
Prologue:
His eyes followed her as she moved across the park. He’d noticed before that she did not use the concrete paths that crisscrossed the green expanse between the trees – she always walked on the grass, with her sandals in her hand. Barefoot, she’d make her way from the office building on the next block, to the park, where she’d sit on a bench near the pond and eat her lunch.

The contest (in which the first prize winner will win up to $175 dollars–and the grand prize is actually rising– worth of stuff, and two other people will walk away with $25 dollars worth of stuff) is simple.

Things added up, and what with the events of the past couple of weeks (including yesterday) I decided I needed to make a break from it. Unfortunately personal issues I have with one of the members was brought public in an attack against myself and my business. Although …

Canadian’s Hail Callwood’s Legacy
June Callwood, Canadian journalist, humanitarian and social activist, died early Saturday after a long fight with cancer. She was 82.
Although this lady didn’t achieve the kind of status for her work as Vonnegut did for his, she more than surpassed the average person’s compassion and insight. I used to love watching her on tv and reading her work when I could get my hands on it.
Canada will miss this lady…we’re the worse for her passing.
