Yesterday was clinic day here in town. I’d geared up for a fight, honestly, when I talked to the receptionist because she doesn’t usually take messages that involve the doc calling someone back, and I know damn well she doesn’t like making last-minute appointments. But, I demanded to have Dr. B. look into what was going on – it’s been just over six months (and three rounds of antibiotics) since Dr. B. was going to refer Care to an ENT doc in the city. Mid-September was when we first talked …

Ante Mortem – before death.
Life moves on, and in this day and age it moves on very quickly. We, as writers, move on quickly – if we get a rejection, we’ve almost always got another market to submit the story out again; if we see a contract die without notice from the publisher or editor of note, we move on.
Inspired by Joel Sutherland and Colleen Morris (expectant parents and editors of Fried! Fast Food, Slow Deaths) and an idea bandied out by Greg Hall and Doc Pus on the Funky …
Discovery has announced that Captain Phil Harris of the Cornelia Marie (Deadliest Catch) has passed on at age 53.
The show just won’t be the same without Capt. Phil. He was the picture of what I’ve always figured north sea fishermen should be.

I have strange ideas and odd plans at 3:30 AM. It’s now 4 AM, and here I am, giggling away like a mad woman, with the plot already in motion.
Just when I’ll find time to do my own writing is beyond me, but I do so enjoy the idea of throwing a lifesaver out onto the choppy waters of publishing…
More info will come, I promise. But for now, I’ve gotta get some sleep..LOL
So I only started this post three days ago. o_O My attention span seems to be getting shorter and shorter as the winter drags on.
Jynx
After we did what we needed to do with Mochi, we stopped by the pet shop in town and picked up a (probably 4-5 week old) baby agouti hooded dumbo fancy rat. We’d already picked out a name for her, Jynx. She’s settled in pretty good now, although she hasn’t yet met the gerbils because they say in Rhia’s room unless one or the other …
Mochi 10/02 – 01/10
After a month of soul-searching and long goodbyes, our guinea pig, Mochi, crossed the Rainbow Bridge Saturday afternoon.
We made the decision Friday night, after he looked a little worse for wear – again – and was having trouble using his hindquarters – again. We knew it was coming, but I think we’d been hoping he would go on his own. That little guy had a heart of steel, though, and no number of strokes were going to keep him down. Since Christmas though, he’d been less and …
