Since my family was practically under quarantine over the Samhain season, our grove postponed our gathering until this weekend. Last night just before midnight, I popped the start of tonight’s dinner into the oven at 150°F. I knew that, as with every other night for the last two weeks, the cat would wake me up with her caterwauling at 4. She didn’t fail me; I got up, chopped the onions and celery, drained the grease from the meat, added the second half of the spices and stirred in the tomato …
So, here we are, just shy of a month before Christmas. You really wanted to be reminded of that, didn’t you? Have YOU finished your shopping yet? If you haven’t, I have some suggestions, if you have, has anyone told you lately that you’re an overachiever? Just kidding.
Sort of. Overachiever.
Yes, that has been my word for November. Overachiever. Some of my friends from NaNoWriMo and NaNoWriYe and their amazing NaNo word counts, some from really early on – overachievers.
Speaking of NaNo… I have officially given up for this year. …
I’ve just finished updating the main portfolio site, and will be working on the design site later tonight. I realized I’ve done a lot of graphics and site work since the last update, and none of them are up there… *wince*

Okay, there is one bit of work I’ve done – Courting Morpheus (the original anthology set in New Bedlam) has finally gone up for pre-order. Well, at least the hardcover limited editions have..
Pre-order Courting Morpheus LE Hardcover only at Belfire Press.
(Please forgive the Naruto AMV at the end. )
Times have changed, but the past has a way of coming back around, grabbing you by the throat and giving you a bit of a shake. With the stuff the last week or so, I’ve been moody and whatever, so I decided it was time to change the website. Hope you like!
I Skyped with some friends tonight, and as we were signing off I decided as tired as I was, I needed to call an old friend. We talked for well…hours. I needed his perspective on something I’d done recently …
As today is my own personal ‘write-in,’ I will be stopping by with regular updates to the actual page (click here) as well as posting the promised excerpt. If anyone is around for a word war between noon and 1PM central time, please leave a comment below, and I’ll set up a tally sheet – oh, and you don’t have to be involved in NaNo to participate in the word war… Any bit of encouragement is welcome!
NOTE: Write-in was a bust. Fornit and muse may be looking for …
