Monday is St. Patty’s day, and though I don’t agree with the celebration of religious intolerance (you do know what those snakes represent, don’t you?) I do quash my pagan spirit with a wee drop of Guinness, a bit of cabbage, corned beef, and champ.

There are many versions of goulash out there, from traditional Hungarian to ‘whatever’s handy to throw in.’ Over the years, I’ve made several versions of all different ‘traditional’ types and I’m old-hand at throwing whatever might taste good into a casserole and calling it dinner.

Spring is coming, possibly already starting to arrive… we’ve got water running on the inside of our walls again, so I’m fairly certain the ice and snow from the roof is starting to melt and leak through.

In my researching for Windygates and helping Ceri Daniels with her zombie project, I’ve come across some titles that I’d definitely recommend for folks that are looking to either make a step toward a more self-sustained and frugal lifestyle, or those that are prepping to bug-out when the inevitable disaster happens.

I told you March was just around the corner! Unfortunately for some, it came in whistling and tapping its heels, so now we’re looking forward to one big banger of a month ender. Ah well. Looking at the temps between now and then, we should be rid of most of the snow before we get another load dumped on us!
