Until I was eight years old, we lived in a small town about an hour or so outside of Winnipeg, not really that far from where I am now. In the fall of 1980 we were ‘between houses’, having had to move from that town to an uncle’s house next door to where we would eventually settle. I don’t know if I’m up too late, or up too early anymore. This recent round of insomnia is stemming from a bit of stress via work, and I know it is. I just don’t know how to work around said stress and get back to sleep.

Over the summer I was asked to write up a little something for Murder by 4, an amazing little blog set up by four authors – Aaron Paul Lazar, Kim Smith, Marta Stephens and S. W. Vaughn. I may or may not have read something by all of these folks, but I know I’ve read S.W. Vaughn’s work and I enjoy it thoroughly. After a rough yesterday, and an all-nighter, I’ve decided to save the crashing until at least 1 PM. I need to get my sleep schedule back into some semblance of normalcy before too much longer, or SAD will sink in hard this year. Much as I like the idea of the UV lightbulbs, they hurt our eyes (mine and Care’s) and the two of us have enough migraines as is, thank-you-very-much.
