Crazy Random Happy Summer!

It’s been over two months since I posted something. In that time, I’ve been absolutely crazy busy, and most of my updates have been in the form of quick fly-bys at Facebook or Twitter. Catch that wom-

… I’ve been that busy lately.
I am *knock-on-wood* 300 pages from being completely caught up. I was 100 pages from it, but then I dug out the re-edits for TNBP and while that’s not technically editing, it’s formatting, so it counts. No really, it does.
Fine, be that way. Realistically, in the edits department, I’m about 150 pages from being caught up.
It feels good.

Last week I was supposed to post about where I see myself going from here, where will I be in the future. I have to admit, I can’t really see too far ahead anymore. I’ve done that before, made big promises to myself and to others, only to have things fall apart. I’d prefer to just live in the moment, day to day, perhaps week to week.

I’ve been reading some interesting takes on what self-publishing, vanity publishing, and POD publishing really are.
Apparently*:
…starting your own company to self-publish your own work using whichever form of small-run printing and distribution is fine. That’s ‘real’ publishing with a publisher.
…starting your own company to publish others and using POD formats is subsidy publishing.
…using POD and e-book services such as the entity formerly known as BookSurge (aka Createspace), LSI, Lulu, Smashwords and KDP to self-publish or publish others is vanity publishing.
