One Step, Two Step

7 July 2011 2 Comments

I want to thank everyone that’s expressed concern and good wishes and all over the past several weeks/two months. It’s meant a lot to me to know ya’ll are out there… and honestly a handful of you have moved me to tears of happy (which is a change from the frustration). :)

I’ve been shouldering a lot of stuff the last while, and I finally took a step in removing that, which has lessened some of the chaos around here as well. I do believe it is the universe’s not-so-subtle way of telling me that while I did clean emotional baggage out of my house last fall, I didn’t continue on with cleaning out the rest of the stuff, nor continue working on myself.

A lot of this has had to do with work issues, and the fact that when I lost a rather major investor to Belfire and TNBP because of a bad decision (fully on my part), as well as the total failure of the Canada Post system last winter*, I used our familial emergency fund to back us up. Of course, that’s when we had all sorts of emergencies come ’round, knocking relentlessly on the doors. Right? Naturally. That insurance ad about mayhem not caring about blah blah blah definitely is spot on.

That brought on a level of stress I’m well acquainted with, but because of other outside stress – I snapped.

To tell you the truth – I nearly started smoking again. And when the girls see that, I’ll be in trouble all over… ;)

However, this has happened:

Rhiannon graduated with three extra credits, and winning the academic award for Dramatic Arts. She didn’t get the Marlin Letter, as it turns out – although we weren’t told why. Still, for a girl who has had to overcome so much, we’re excited and happy for her! Of course, there were tiny glitches that day, and a couple days afterwards (familial stuff from other members of the family) but all in all, it has been an amazing time for her.

Their dad has come through big time for them both in the last few weeks, and for me as well. Because of his stepping up, it took a lot of the stress and worry off, and we all enjoyed the grad. (and I really enjoyed standing with his girlfriend, pointing and laughing while he danced with Rhia…lol)

Something that has been worrying and really giving me an issue is that I needed to find someone I could trust, and who is relatively cheap, to repair our vehicle. There have been two ‘mechanics’ that I’ve given whole-hearted trust to in my life – a local guy Ike, and my ex, J. Ike is retiring, and after scouting prices and parts prices with everyone in the area and still not getting over my “they’ll screw me like W. did”, I talked to Joe, and J. Rhia says J. said he can do it, but there was other ‘gibberish’ in his message, so I’ll get in touch with him later on.

It’s taken how many years? Nine. Nine years for us to be on civil, speaking terms. That’s another thing that’s taken a lot of the stress off. I think I mentioned it somewhere else along the last few months, but I really like his current girlfriend. Better yet, so do the girls, and she likes them too, which is so awesome.

Knock on wood. For now, that’s all we can do while we dig out from under. There are changes being made, things that need to be done to the our lives, the business, and future plans that need to be changed… things that have to be, in order to move forward.

    Well there girl,
You seem to finally be able to come up for a little bit of air. If you need anything at all, just give me a call. You know where I am. If I am not at home, the girls have my cell number and just text me. I usually have that with me.
Hugs to you all. Love ya guys.
