The Bell Has Rung…
Yesterday, I sent a message to Doc Pus at Library of Horror, asking some advice on what to do about the Dead Bells anthology. It’s been just over two years in the process… and with everything that has gone on in the last several months, and with Doc as well, not just me… we decided to let it go.
I sent the email to all the authors today, releasing their stories. I’m angry at myself for not having overcome everything that’s stood in the way of this one, when I could pull Courting Morpheus and Ante Mortem back from oblivion. It seriously kills me. It was such an awesome idea.
Perhaps my anger at another editor taking the idea (after asking me about it during submissions) and releasing something very similar, with higher pay and some bigger names, perhaps having to go through and change the dates and all, after we missed our first deadline…. maybe all that started to kill the spark for it, and then the personal stuff plaguing Doc and I in the last year (his was the last six months of 2010, mine the first of 2011) did it in.
Maybe it just wasn’t meant to be, at all….
I’ll now be turning all focus to finishing up Vampology for Doc, getting the two Town Archives wrapped up, and getting TNBP sorted out. Okay, outside of the Belfire stuff….
Speaking of sorting out TNBP – we’re still looking for a baker’s dozen subscribers to get us off the ground in print. Subscribe here!
