27 of 52 Weeks – Words for a Cause
* Update posted below
JulNoWriMo is going great! Lots of words flowing these days, and it certainly feels good to be focusing on this project for a bit, although the characters are being a bit pushy. To be expected, I suppose; this is a twisty little story that seems to grow every time I sit down to write.
Partner is doing well, too, although she refuses to update me on her word count until she wraps her end of one thread. <|:^p
On the 15th, we're hoping to have an excerpt ready, which I'll post to the Free Read page. It won't be a long one, but it'll be something, anyway. A taste of non-New Bedlam from me for once! <|:^)
Over on Facebook, Paul Anderson (a favorite contributor to New Bedlam) posted a link to a charity 'a-thon' run by Dreadful Cafe, called Iron Writer Insane-a-Thon. It runs on July 13th, and raises money for St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital. I’ll be participating, using my count that today to help in whatever way it will.
* UPDATE *
Over at JulNoWriMo, Erin (@theoryoferin on Twitter) has declared the 13th a WriYe and JulNo “WriDay” (basically like a write-in), with a challenge to write 50,000 words on that day, in conjunction with Iron Writer. If you aren’t a WriMo type, there’s still Iron Writer obviously, but if you do both, you’re that much ahead. And it’s for a good cause!
Naturally I took up the insanity, and added my name to the list. I’ll be doing a handful of 30 minute word wars/sprints during the day, so check in on my Twitter account to compete… @JodiL33.
Another update posted below! <|;^)

I’ll be accepting early sponsor donations below, or if you’d rather wait and sponsor per block of words, you can use the contact form to do so. I’ll send a Paypal invoice or collect in person (for local folks only) between July 14th and 18th, as I’d have to turn them in to DC by the 21st.
* UPDATE PT.2 *
All of my sponsors will be listed on the Windygates page, and will receive acknowledgment in the novel as well as an ebook copy, should I eventually find a publisher (or self-publish).
