38 of 52 Weeks – Long and Long

28 September 2013 No Comment

It’s been a long week here at casa Lee slash Wetherup. So much stuff going on, most of it unnecessary to the daily functioning of our home and lives that… well, it’ll suffice to say we made it through. This week has shed some light on spots in our own lives where things could be better, and how we can take steps to improve ‘em. This is a good thing!

I have decided that for myself, I’ll be taking the months of October and November as out of touch and offline as I can possibly be, short of totally cutting the phone/’net line. I have deadlines not only for myself, but for Belfire and clients, that come up staggered throughout the two months. The last three Belfire projects for 2013 come out between October 1st and November 30th. December is going to be my reading month, so I’m keeping it light, too, in terms of freelancing.

November of course is NaNoWriMo and I am determined to wrap up the Galleys Between and Windygates projects by the end. Windygates is halfway through, and I’m waiting on my partner to finish her bit, then I’d like to find a couple of beta readers for it. Interested? Shoot me a message via the contact form.

Projects that I’d hoped to complete by now have been hijacked throughout the entire month. Every time I sit down all prepared, the phone rings. Or someone shows up. Or… or… or…

Not in October, and definitely not in November.

As I said on Facebook, New Bedlam is calling, and I’m going. It’s time we packed, wrapped and sent off this baby!

Totally in another direction, the girls and I have started geocaching. It has been in our plans for over a year now, but a couple of weeks ago we got around to installing an app on Rhia’s phone, scoured the local area map, and out we went. Of the twelve cache sites that we have visited, we’ve found eight. Plans to find those four elusive caches are in the works for tomorrow… And yesterday we placed the first cache of our own – That’s a Keeper! Hopefully someone finds it soon, before the snow flies; it’ll be a lot of digging through snow to find it in winter.

It’s a sweet cache though, hint hint. <|;^) So – that’s what we’ve been doing, what I’ve been doing in my down time/attempted work time this week. Next week – silence, work and many many more words! ’til next week… <3 JL
