35 of 52 Weeks – Skipped a Beat
In which I ignore last week, start the 30 Day Take Away, and move forward.
Last week… well, let’s just say it didn’t happen. Obviously it did, but it didn’t in the mirror-verse. Everyone here went bloop into this week. That’s what so many words will do to a person. Fast forward them in time.
That means we’ve arrived, bright and fresh, here on September 2nd. Hello!
This week Carrie and I will be ordering, and hopefully manage to have delivered, a construction bin. We are doing a full-on, hasn’t been done in a year, heavy-duty clean and downsize… and with it, a challenge.
For the 30 days of September, I’m doing a 30 Day Take Away. It’s kind of an experiment, really, a prelude of sorts to a group effort in November. This is how it works:
For every day in September or November, you must clean (do dishes, wash laundry, organize etc.) for one hour, you must also throw out one thing, recycle one thing and donate one thing to your local charity shop. At the end of the month, you should have a less-cluttered, more organized home!
I’ve got a group started (no members yet, come on over!) on Facebook, and of course, those without Facebook can sign up here on the 30 Day page… it’s on the top bar up there.
I’m making this post a sticky, so anyone interested can load it up and follow my progress. Keep me accountable, folks! <|;^)
- Hours – 14 / 30
- Throw Out – 14 / 30
- Recycle – 14 / 30
- Donate – 14 / 30
(Update 9/14: I’ve lost track, thrown out much more than 14 items, and worked more hours, but…to make it easier, just stickin’ with the base number.)
’til next week…
