1 of 52 Weeks – Happy New Year!
Yes, I know it’s several days late and all, but I’ve been resting my eyeballs (pretty much) since last Wednesday. Also, it’s been hecka cold, like -56F, with the windchill factored in. THAT is why Canadians are crazy – the temperature.
Anyhoo, back to the grind today!
There’s a lot of changes going on here (at home, and online) that you may have noticed already. Sometime after midnight at the New Year, I changed the blog look and title a wee bit, updated some of the pages, and added a new poll. My tech friend and I finally traced the problems with the Belfire emails and websites, and those are pretty much under control now. I’ve done a lot of poking around and research, and discovered that certain ‘unlimited’ programs through certain book sellers created a vacuum of book sales for the regular joe and small publishers. I noticed in Belfire’s sales, and definitely in my own as well. It’s crazy. I mean, their plan only works out financially if someone reads a book or more a day, on their..erm..specific e-reading device. Otherwise, you load it up with books, read one or two, and at the end of your month – POOF! – and they’re gone. Not that I know this from personal experience, I bought a Kobo. Because YES. *ahem*
I’ll be running not only the No Quarter Given challenge, but also the Full Moon Madness challenge through WriYe. I’m only stepping in until the originator returns, but while she’s away, I’m mooning everyone. And that’s a BIG moon! <|;^) Seriously though, I've decided to run 1k1hr sprints two or three times during each challenge, mostly on Twitter, but possibly on Skype too, if I get back to that... My word count goal for the year is 400k, so there'll be a lot of writing. Some changes here at home include another month or two of de-cluttering, starting today, and skipping weekends. If things go well, Care and I will be moving in spring, and frankly, I'm not taking all the unhappy crap from here, to there. New starts require leaving the old behind... well, in this case, donated or sent to the tip. The 30 Day Take Away I did in November didn't go as well as planned, so this time I'm following other advice, which is 15 minutes of de-cluttering per day, and that's it. If it takes you a month to do one room (I'm looking at you, office/bedroom) so be it. Other rooms, such as the bathroom, could take only the 15 minutes. See, that room? I'm willing to just tip it all, and start over. <|;^) Of course there's going to be the whole exercise more, eat better, and blah blah blah. I'm not forcing any of that this year, though if I am going to get into treatment for the fibroid (we've named it Felicity because we're sick and twisted) I need to lose *mumble* pounds. No, I'm not going to focus on a goal, or make major changes to our diet. What I am going to do is fix the digestive issues I've been having in the last seven years or so. Now, except for six months when we basically lived on the street (before the babies, no worries!) and I weighed 135 pounds, *sigh*, I've always been fat. I'm going to always be fat. I'm good with that. I just want to be less fat…
Balancing out the ass-in-chair & writing/working will be odd little exercises that I’ve dug up, that I should be able to do without stressing any joints or my blood pressure. Etc. blah blah blah.
That brings me to the end of my relatively goal-less year (just writing-based goals!), what’s on your plate for 2015?
’til next week…
